Collection: Surgical Steel

All our surgical steel is made from 316L grade steel. 316L does contain nickel — typically around 10–14%. The “L” just means it has low carbon content, which improves corrosion resistance, especially after welding. So while it’s hypoallergenic for most people, it’s not nickel-free — just that the nickel is bound in a way that usually doesn’t leach out or cause reactions. Opt for titanium jewelry if you want a truly nickel free metal.

If the piece is pre-colored it will be PVD plated.
